Press Releases as a Marketing Strategy

Press Releases as a Marketing Strategy

A press release alerts journalists and bloggers about specific news related to your organization. Have something newsworthy to promote to the community — say, obtaining tax-exempt status? Writing a press release can spark interest in your organization and invite free publicity from local media. Plus, if the local newspaper or station picks up the story, you can highlight the coverage in future sponsorship requests or grant proposal follow-ups and on your website. An effective press release may also invite national coverage online and increased awareness of your organizations mission.
