Professional Fundraiser

Professional Fundraiser

Once your organization is better established, with frequent fundraising events and positive cash flow, it may be time to consider hiring a local professional fundraiser. Professionals bring experience, contacts, and implementation assistance in exchange for an upfront payment. Hiring a professional fundraiser requires additional reporting requirements when filing Charity Registration renewals and federal 990s, which are discussed later in this guide. Also, make sure you ask professional fundraisers for proof they are properly registered with the state or proof it is not required. Unfortunately, there are often scams associated with so-called professional fundraisers.
